Legal technology (usually called Legal tech) refers to technologies and software that substantially
changes the way we use legal services in our daily lives.
In broader terms, it represents the set of technologies that Eases the practice of law for attorneys and
legal professionals, and
enables customers access legal competence or justice.
With the advent of legal tech, there is greater transparency between legal firms and clients.
Clients know how much fees they have to pay and can keep track of day-to-day progress of the lawyer on
their case.
Numbers
By the end of 2025, more than 80% of law organisations are expected to adopt the following technologies-
Smart Contract, Predictive Analytics and Decision Support Tools and along with that $3.2 billion was the
valuation of the
AI legal technology market in 2018 which is expected to rise with a CAGR of 36% by 2026.
Cloud adoption in the legal industry increases by 20% annually, indicating that lawyers are understanding
the
essence of replacing paper-based documents with a completely digital law firm.
Trust
Increased transparency.
Even today, many lawyers showcase the issues faced by clients in a complicated way to earn more profits.
They do not disclose that the problem they are facing is as simple as using a DSLR. Besides, the law
practices are also confined to offline sources.
This makes clients doubt every lawyer they connect with.
Today, it has become equally important to keep your clients satisfied and happy.
AI
In this case, AI can enhance your customer experience strategy by delivering customized services. It can
gather heaps of consumer data in real-time
and help you to know your clients better. It can also send personalized emails and other messages to keep
them engaged all the time.
The use of technology in legal profession, if used correctly, is fast and efficient.
This can prove to be of great assistance to any law firm. Using technology, a high level of analysis can
be done in a matter of minutes.
Also there is an importance of understanding Smart contracts and Blockchain networks in time they becoming
more common.
Going to Law school teaches you how to think. In a same way the computer programing teaches you, only in
a slightly diferent way, how to think.
I view computer science as an Liberal art. It should be something that everybody should learn.
